Non-Discrimination Policy

The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) Remediation Section (RS) invites public comment on a proposal to clean-up 900 East 30th Street Site (DE-1773) (“Site”) located at 900 East 30th Street in Wilmington. The Site was developed and operated as a commercial warehouse for the manufacturing of window components in the early to mid-1960s. Window components were made from extruded poly vinyl chloride (PVC). Polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) containing transformers were once located on the site. This site is adjunct to two Hazardous Substances Cleanup Act (HSCA) sites with known chlorinated solvent impacts to groundwater. Prior to the site’s use as a warehouse, the area was a drive-in movie theater. 900 East 30th Street Site consists of three tax parcels totaling approximately 4 acres.

The 900 East 30th Street Site will be subject to the following key remedial actions: development and compliance with the Contaminated Materials Management Plan (CMMP), the recording of an Environmental Covenant restricting groundwater withdrawal, restrictions on property use and future development, and compliance with the CMMP.
