The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) Remediation Section (RS) has adopted a plan regarding the clean-up of the 1507 A Street Property (DE- 1838) Site (Site) located in Wilmington, Delaware. The Site is located at 1507 A Street and consists of New Castle County parcels 26-058.10-219, 26-058.10-217, 26-051.30-289, 26-051.30-290, 26- 051.30-291, 26-051.30-292, 26-058.10-218, 26-058.10-214, 26-058.10-215, 26-058.10-216, 26-051.30-293, 26-051.30-294, 26-051.30-295, 26-051.30-296, 26-058.10-210, which encompasses approximately 3.51 acres and is developed with a single 47,964 square feet commercial warehouse building with office space. The remainder of the Site consists of a parking area (asphalt millings) and some grass covered areas.
The Site will be subject to the following key remedial actions: the submittal and approval of a Remedial Action Work Plan (RAWP), development and compliance with the Contaminated Materials Management Plan (CMMP), placement of at least one foot of clean fill or impervious material (e.g. buildings, asphalt, or concrete) over impacted areas to restrict access to underlying soil, implementation of a site-specific Long-Term Stewardship (LTS) Plan, recording of an Environmental Covenant that restricts the Site use to non-residential, ensures there is no interference with the remedy, restricts groundwater withdrawal and ensures compliance with the LTS Plan and CMMP, and the submittal of a Remedial Action Completion Report.
DNREC issued a public notice of the Proposed Plan of Remedial Action (Proposed Plan) for the Site on April 16th, 2025. There were no comments or questions from the public regarding the Proposed Plan.
